Safety precautions: Frigen R 12 is not explosive or flammable, does not corrode, has no smell and is heavier than air. When working on the air conditioning equipment, wear protective gogles at all times. Frigen R 12 evaporates at normal temperatures so rapidly that anything coming into contact with it will freeze. If any of the coolant should get into the eyes, wash it out immediately with a few drops of mineral oil followed by a weak boracic acid solution. Visit the doctor or optician without delay even if no pain is felt. Warning: Do not work in pits - danger of suffocation. Before the air conditioning system is filled with Frigen R 12, a vacuum must be produced in the entire system. This is achieved by means of a vacuum pump connected to the suction side of the compressor by way of the filling column and a filter. Connect hoses between the coolant bottle (1), the suction valve (2) and the vacuum pump (3). Open valves (5 - 7) on the filling column.
