Remove luggage compartment right side trim panel and
right side floor panel.
Detach fuel hose and wire from float unit.
When installing:
Cable colour brown -
brown-yellow G
brown-black W
Unscrew the float unit anti-clockwise, using two crossed
screwdrivers.

Warning: The ring seal (1) swells in contact with the fuel
to provide a perfect seal.
Previously installed ring seals do not regain their original
shape until approx. 48 hours have elapsed.
Always insert the ring seal (1) by packing with Vaseline.
Clean the fine mesh strainer (2).

If the fuel gauge does not give a reading when the tank
is completely or partly filled, test as follows:
Remove the float unit (62 16 000).
Connect an ohmmeter to terminals G and -.
Tilt the float unit away from the horizontal until the float
reaches the upper or lower end position. The ohm reading
should be between 3.2 and 73.7 ohms.
Warning: Do not take down the float unit.
