Remove and install both complete twin headlight units 63 12 120. Disconnect the negative lead at the battery. Attach the headlight wiper motor to its support frame. Warning: Wiper motors are marked "L" (left) and "R" (right). Do not confuse.

Detach the headlight bezel and replace with the new bezel with stops included in the installation kit.

Drill a 3.7 mm (5/32 in) hole in the left front panel for the headlight cleaning contact unit. Distance A = 50 mm (1.97 in)

Connect central plug of additional wiring harness to headlight cleaning contact unit. Attach contact unit to front panel. Secure ground (earth) lead (1) under a bolt holding the contact unit. Run the additional wiring harness to the right along the front panel together with the existing front section of the main wiring harness, and secure into positon.

Pass the lead with plug terminal from the left additional wiring harness through the rubber grommet (1) and the cable loop (3), and connect to the existing terminal strip for the engine compartment light (2). Secure the plug terminal from the additional wiring harness at the existing terminal strip with insulating tape. Note: If an engine compartment light is already installed, detach the lead from terminal strip (2) and connect it to the plug terminal from the additional wiring harness. Connect the lead thus freed to terminal strip (2) for the engine compartment light.

Pull the right additional wiring harness through the rubber grommet and front panel into the engine compartment.

Take off the existing windshield washer fluid tank with pump, and attach the twin pump to the new fluid tank.

Connect the supply pipe for the additional tank to the new fluid tank.
|  |

Attach the hose with junction to the pipe for the additional tank and to the pumps. When installing: The pump connection is marked "B".

Connect the two short hoses to the tank and the pumps. When installing: The pump connections is marked "D".
|  |
| |
Pull the hose with valve through the front panel.
|  |
| |
Secure the hose together with existing line at the wheel arch, using a new strap.
|  |
| |
Connect the windshield washer (1) and headlight cleaning (2) pipes to the fluid tank.
|  |
| |
Connect the leads detached from the old pump to the large plug on the additional wiring harness, using the same color codes as before. Connect the small plug (1) and the cable (2) to the washer pump. Secure the cable with a pipe clip to the pump mounting. Insert the fluid tank into its retaining clip.

a) Saloon (Sedan) models Remove screws and take off heater cover plate. When installing: Apply Terostat to the stop 3 screws before inserting.

Drill a 12 mm (15/32 or ½ in) hole for the line to the additional fluid tank, and insert a rubber grommet. Warning: When drilling the hole, make sure that brake pipes are not damaged.

Pass the hose through the hole and connect to additional fluid tank.
|  |

Place the retaining strap round the additional fluid tank, mark positions of holes, drill 3.7 mm (5/32 in) and attach tank retaining strap with 4.8 x 9.5 mm self-tapping metal screws. When installing: The additional fluid tank should rest against the base of the swaged part of the panel (1).

b) Coupé models Drill a second 12 mm (15/32 or ½ in) hole next to the existing hole so that the pipe to the additional fluid tank can be passed through the panel, and insert a rubber grommet.

Pull the protective backing sheet away, and attach the self-adhesive side of the underlay to the body.
|  |
| |
Insert the retaining clips. Mark the hole positions and drill 3.0 mm (1/8 in) holes. Secure the retaining clips with 4.2 x 13 mm self-tapping screws.

Run the hose through from the engine compartment and connect to the additional fluid tank.
|  |
| |
Secure the additional fluid tank with the clamp ring.
|  |
| |
Pass the hose for the left headlight spray nozzle through the front panel towards the radiator.
|  |
| |
Attach the hose to the radiator with cable clips.
|  |
| |
Pass the hose through the right front panel, and connect to the hose junction.
|  |
| |
Using the templates provided in the kit, mark the front grille and cut away to form the necessary opening.

| |
Insert a cable clip into the upper support mounting, and attach the hose. Connect the central plug to the headlight bulbs and the headlight wiper motor plug to the additional wiring harness. Secure the additional wiring harness with a cables clip to the support frame.

Insert the spray nozzles into the front grille.
|  |
| |
Attach the wipers and adjust that the blades do not pass beyond the stops. Reconnect the negative lead at the battery.
Checking operation: Add water to tank. Move the nozzles if necessary with a fine needle until the water strikes the headlight lenses. Switch on the lights. The headlight cleaning system should run for approx. 5 seconds, then switch off. It can only be run again after an interval of approx. 30 seconds, by operating the windshield washer lever with the lights switched on.
