35 11 000 - Removal and fitting of bearing block for foot pedals < 35 - Foot pedals < BMW 2.5CS


Disconncet earth belt from battery. Remove air filter casing, cf. 13 71 000. Flange brake servo off bearing block. 13 71 000

Loosen lock nut from accelerator arm. Pull arm off accelerator pedal. Note when assembling: Note assembly of spacer sleeve and shims, and correct adjustment of arm, cf. 35 41 090. 35 41 090

Reomve cover = instrument panel on bottom middle left, cf. 51 45 190. Remove steering wheel shaft at bottom, cf. 32 31 070. Loosen fastening bolts for clutch input cylinder. 32 31 070

Disconnect piston rod from clutch pedal. Note when assembling: Check bushes for wear and replace if necessary. Apply Longterm 2 grease on bushes. Check adjustment of piston rod, cf. 35 31 000. Note correct tightening torque¹). 35 31 000 ¹) See specifications.

Only on cars with automatic transmission: Remove starter safety relay with support plate from bearing block. Pull off cables red = 30/51 balck = 86 black/brown = 85 Pull cables off terminal bar; black = 3 h terminal from the bottom.

Pull cable harness with rubber socket into passenger compartment. Note when assembling: Seal rubber socket with suitable adhesive.

Remove safety catch for piston rod on brake pedal. Take out bolt. Note when assembling: Apply Longterm 2 grease on bolt. Pull off cable for stop light sensor. Note when assembling: Check adjustment of stop light sensor, cf. 34 31 111. Note correct tightening torque. 34 31 111

Pull off safety catch for accelerator pedal. Pull accelerator pedal off lever arm. Note when assembling: Note correct position of shims. Apply Longterm 2 grease on accelerator pedal bush.

Screw out sheet metal bolts for fastening bearing block. Note when assembling: Note correct tightening torque¹). ¹) See specifications

Disconnect hazard warning flasher relay and place at side.

Remove cover - upper section together with steering wheel shaft and steering wheel - from foot pedal bearing block. Disconnect cables from clamps and place steering wheel at side together with upper cover section and steering wheel shaft.

Screw out bolts for fastening foot pedal bearing block.

Press accelerator pedal right over to left side. Turn foot pedal bearing block clockwise and take out carefully. Important: Note housing of heater unit. Pull out push bars for clutch and brakes. Note when assembling: Replace sealing element for foot pedal bearing block.
