Disconnect handbrake cable from handbrake lever.
Note when assembling: Adjust handbrake in such a way
that the brakes grip evenly when reaching the fifth notch.

Disconnect (or unscrew)¹) handbrake Bowden cable on
longitudinal arm.
Pull handbrake cable out of protective sleeve.
Note when assembling: Rubber cap must be perfectly
tight on sleeve (sealing effect).
¹) Only on cars fitted with drum brakes.

Remove expanding lock, cf. 34 41 250.

Loosen support for handbrake Bowden cable.
Pull out handbrake Bowden cable.

On cars with drum brakes:
Disconnect brake shoes at bottom.
Disconnect handbrake cable from brake lever.

Pull handbrake Bowden cable out of brake support.
Note when assembling: The collar of the handbrake
Bowden cable must rest firmly on the brake support.
