Brake pads may be worn down until dimension A = 2 mm
(0.08 in.).

Remove (install) front brake pads (34 11 000).
All 4 front brake pads must be replaced at the same time.
Use only genuine replacement brake pads¹).
Note colour coding (B)¹).
Warning: Use brake pads of the same make at both front
and rear wheels.

Clean out the fixed calliper with a narrow brush.
When new, the brake pads must move easily inside the
fixed caliper.

Using the special piston return pliers, push back the pistons
into the fixed calliper as far as possible.
Note: When this is done, the brake fluid level in the reser-
noir will rise.
When installing: Depress the brake pedal several times
until the brake pads are touching the brake disc.

Warning: Bed in new brake pads for 600 km (375 miles) at
normal driving speeds. Try to avoid emergency brake
applications form high speeds. If these precautions are not
observed, the brake pads will not attain their normal
favourable wear and friction characteristics.
