Take out spring strut shock absorber together with damper
plate (3).
Note when fitting: Fit spacer tube on knurled-head bolts.
Important: Fit on damper plate in such a way that the
rubber protrusions face to the front and the rear, in the
direction of travel.

C) Subsequent fitting of damper rings, after car has left
factory
Damper rings may be fitted to improve driving comfort.
When fitting damper rings, first remove both spring strut
shock absorbers cf. 33 52 100.
Remove sleeve cf. 33 52 301.
Fit longer knurled-head (8 - 35 mm) onto centring bush.
Fit new sleeve with recess for knurled-head bolts.

Enlarge holes in bodywork for spring strut shock absorber
mounting from 9 mm (0.354331") dia. to 16 mm (0.62992")
dia., using Turatol-type drill.
For doing this, increase length of drill shaft to 110 mm
(4.3307").

Fit in spring strut shock absorbers with damper ring (3).
