Loosen bolt in universal joint.
Mark assembly position of steering wheel shaft/universal joint in straight-ahead
direction (e.g. with chalk).

Remove cover (instrument panel) at the bottom centre left cf. 51 45 190.
Unscrew lock nuts.

Push steering wheel shaft to the front so that it can be removed from the
plate-type disc.
Pull steering wheel shaft out from underneath the universal joint and remove.
Note when assembling: Check plastic bush (1) and replace if
necessary.
Check sleeve in bearing block and replace if necessary.
