Turn the steering to full left lock.
This will move the piston to the top of its travel.
Drain the oil¹).
Warning:Do not re-use oil drained from the steering.
When installing: Bleed the power steering (32 13 006).

Press the track rod away from the steering drop arm with 7009 extractor.

Remove the lower screw from the universal joint.
Loosen the upper screw.
Drive the universal joint as far as possible on to the steering column.
When installing: With the steering in the straight ahead position,
the marks on the steering box and the worm shaft must be aligned when the
worm shaft is turned to the mid point of its total range of movement.

Detach the oil hoses.
Warning: Seal the hose connections with dust caps.
Separate the steering box from the front axle beam and remove downwards.
