Determine the straight ahead position by dividing the total number of turns at the steering wheel by 2. Turn the steering wheel about 1 complete turn to the left. Install the friction meter and turn the steering wheel to the right through the straight ahead position. Read off the friction value¹) at this point.  See technical data

To adjust friction value, turn the steering wheel back approx. 1 turn to the left. Warning: In this position the worm cannot be pressed into its bearing at one side by the steering roller shaft, and this may create the impression that no play is present. Loosen the locknut. Turn the adjusting screw until the correct friction value¹) is obtained when the steering wheel passes through the straight ahead position. See technical data
