Remove wheels 36 10 340.
Undo brake stirrup.

Remove angle piece from suspension strut/shock absorber.
Brake lines should remain connected.

Lift brake stirrup and tie in position.

Slacken bolt (1) and bolt (2).
Push universal joint upwards to its fullest extent.
Fitting instruction: Steering wheel and front wheels should

be in straight ahead position.
Markings on housing and steering shaft must line up.
Fitting position bolt (2) in locking groove.

Applicable only where hydraulic-assisted steering is fitted:
Press off track rod from steering drop arm.
Track rod pressing off tool 70009.

Detach hydraulic-assisted steering from front axle bracket
and tie to brake servo unit.

Undo left-hand and right-hand engine supports.

Detach suspension strut shock absorber bearings from
wheel arch.
Lower suspension strut shock absorber outwards.

Engage engine on hoist with lifting bar 7000.

Support front axle brackets with jack and lifting rail.
Note! Do not jack up vehicle under front axle bracket cover
plate.

Sketch for manufacture of lifting rail.
C will be determined by jack profile.

Release front axle bracket from frame member and lower.
