Lift out the lock washer (1).
Remove the shift rod.

Pull off the knob.
Remove the floor of the stowage compartment.

Take off the screen plate.

Separate the gate carrier from the transmission tunnel.
When installing: Check condition of rubber gasket.

Coupé only:
Lift away rocker switches (wires remain attached).
Loosen screws holding screen plate.
