Remove entire exhaust system - see 18 00 020.
Detach cross member at body.
Lower the transmission far enough that the cover (D) can
be removed.
Note when fitting: Replace gasket (1). Pull out the servo
piston and check seals (2 to 4), replacing if necessary.

Caution! If a vehicle driven in range 2 brakes heavily
while accelerating, then the vent bore (B) for the servo
piston is missing in the housing.

Remedy: Remove cover (D).

Pull out servo piston and exchange it against a servo
piston with a vent bore.
Further the transmission must be disassembled and a
3 mm (0.118") dia. bore drilled in the transmission case.
