Detach primary pump at converter housing.

Remove primary pump.
Note when fitting: Check oil seal (1), replacing if necessary.

Check radial play¹ between the driven gear and the pump
housing. The gear must turn 360° for this purpose.

Check axial play¹ of both gears to the face surface.
(Use feeler gauge or dial gauge.)

Installation distance need only be observed if needle
bearing was replaced.
Distance A of 1.7 mm (0.067") from face of needle bearing
to drive end face of pump gear.

The annular groove in the pump gear face the converter
housing. The oil return bore in the primary pump housing
must be aligned with the return bore in the converter
housing.

Check if primary pump round freely and smoothly with
operating flange 7054.
