Remove drive pinion - see 24 21 500.
Take out circlip.
Press off grooved ball bearing.

Note when fitting: Press on the grooved ball bearing.
Insert the circlip.
Press the grooved ball bearing on the drive pinion with
its ring groove facing the drive end into the case.
Install circlip.
Caution! The grooved ball bearing must be in the case
without play.

A measured from bearing outer race to seal.

B measured from flange to thrust shoulder face.

Determine thickness of shim C.
Example:
B 4.7 mm
- A 4.5 mm

0.2 mm measured play
- 0,1 mm permissible play¹
------------------
C 0.1 mm (0.004") shim thickness
Stick shim C to bearing flange with grease.
