Remove planetary gears - see 24 22 550.
Remove rear brake band.
Note when fitting: Adjust brake band - see 24 24 004.
Remove driven flange and transmission cover (11 mm / 0.433")
twelve-sided).
Note when fitting: Replace the gasket.

Pull off the speedometer drive gear.
Remove the centrifugal governor (wrench 7041).
Note when fitting: The vent in the governor housing faces
the driven flange.
Caution! Lock the governor in the cavity in the drive
pinion with the point of the lockscrew.

Pull the drive pinion out of the transmission case.
Remove the thrust washer.
Note when fitting: If the grey cast piston rings (5) are
broken on the side of the periphery, then the groove in
the drive pinion must also be checked for wear. Replace
the piston rings and, if applicable, the drive pinion.

Note when fitting: Place the thrust washer with its holding
tongues in the holding ribs.
