Remove entire exhaust system - see 18 00 020.
Detach the propeller shaft at driven flange and center
holder.
Bend down the propeller shaft and pull it off of the
centering pin.
Note when fitting: Pre-load the center holder in driving
direction by 2 mm (0.079").

Pull off stop pad (1).
Lift out lockplate.
Note when fitting: Punch the lockplate in the driven flange
groove.

Counterhold the driven flange with holder 604.
Place centering bush 607 on the centering pin.
Loosen the collared nut.

Pull off the driven flange.
Support the transmission.
Detach the speedometer shaft.
Detach the cross member.

Remove the selector lever switch, exhaust carrier and trans-
mission cover.
Note when fitting: Watch cover (1) for the pawl when
positioning.

Pull off speedometer worm (1).
Note when fitting: Collar of speedometer worm faces the
centrifugal regulator.
Loosen operator (2) and pull off the centrifugal regulator
hub after swinging it out.
Note when fitting: Lubricate straight edge rings (3) well.

Note when fitting: Press operator (2) tight in the groove of
the drive pinion and then tighten.

Detach bearing flange.
Replace gasket.
Caution! When installing stick the shims to the bearing
flange with grease.
