Engage selector lever on the transmission in position 0. Watch control distance (B) of 93.7 mm (3.689"). Take selector rod (S) off of selector lever. Change length of the selector rod (S) until the selector lever touches point (C) on the gate. Now shorten the selector rod length by 2 to 2.5 turns with the selector rod eye (D). Adjusting accelerator linkage and accelerator cable¹ Synchronize the engine idle at operating temperature. Detach the accelerator cable at the operating lever (2). Adjust the tension element (1) so that the operating lever (2) is tight on the stop (3). Caution! The tension element (1) should not be pulled down to the kickdown range. With a play of 0.25 + 0.25 mm (0.010 + 0.010") (slotted plate) between the seal (4) and cable sleeve end the swivel joint (5) must align with the hole in the operating lever (2). The accelerator cable may not be slack. | ![]() |
Press the accelerator pedal (6) down against the kickdown stop (7), adjust the pressure rod (8) so that the distance between the seal (4) and cable sleeve end is 37 mm (1.457"). In kickdown position the seal (4) must be spaced away from the cable sleeve end by at least 43 mm (1.693"). Check distance with gauge 24 3 450. ¹ Refer to "Checking main pressure" - 24 00 009. 24 00 009 b
