D) Disassembly Remove console. Note when fitting: Check bearing blocks and replace if necessary.
Fasten gearbox to support 7024. Drain oil.
Drive out cylindrical pin. Pull off shift rod.
Fit on guide sleeve 607. Lock drive flange using clamp spanner 604. Unscrew collar nut.
Pull off three-legged flange. Note when fitting: Clamp locking plate in groove of three- legged flange.
Unscrew bearing cover bolts.
Remove guide sleeve. Note: Spacers. Note when fitting: Replace sealing. Fit in bolts with sealing compound. Replace lubricating felt pad if hardened.
Remove circlip. Take off shim.
Pull grooved ball bearing off drive shaft, using Rillex 6306 - long version. Note: Shim.
Pull grooved ball bearing off countershaft, using Rillex 6305.
Remove cover for locking bolt. Take out spring and locking bolt. Note when fitting: Correct position of locking bolt.
Unscrew reversing light switch. Remove cover. Note when fitting: Support for cable. Replace sealing.
Unscrew bolt (1) until shift lever for reverse gear can be removed.
Drive out tensioning pins (two for each shifting fork).
Turn shifting shaft until rod for 3rd and 4th gears can be pulled out. Note: Steel balls will fall out.
Pull out shift rod for 1st and 2nd gears. Note: Steel balls with fall out.
Pull out shift rod for reverse gear.
Remove shifting forks. High shifting fork is for 3rd and 4th gears.
Pull out shifting shaft. Note: Rollers.
Heat housing cover to approx. 80° C (176° F). Pull drive shaft, driven shaft, countershaft and reverse gear out of housing cover.
Replacement of 3rd and 4th gears Press off 4th gear. Remove circlip. Press off 3rd gear. Pressure required for pressing off: approx. 10 t. Pressure repuired for pressing on: approx. 7 t. Note when fitting: Heat gears to 120 ÷ 150° C (248 ÷ 302° F). Note: The collar round the bore of the 3rd and 4th gears must face towards the 2nd gear.
