(B) Synchomesh
Important: The synchronizing rings must be renewed if the
gap between the synchronizing ring and the clutch body is
less than 0.4 mm (0.0157").
Measure between stop dogs.
Press sliding sleeve off synchromesh unit.
Remove pressure elements and synchromesh springs.

Note when assembling: The sliding sleeve on the 1st and 2nd gears
has equal serration all round.
Synchromesh unit hub (1) is equally high on both sides.
The sliding sleeve on the 3rd and 4th gears has interrupted
serration.
Synchromesh unit hub (2) is lower on the side facing
towards 4th gear.

Important: If synchronizing rings rattle or make a noise
install only synchromesh springs with protruding ends.
The axial force of these synchromesh rings avoids wear on
the ring and the cone.

Arrange hooks on spring ends of synchronizing rings in any
longitudinal groove as required.
Put in pressure elements.

Push the pressure elements into the somewhat lower teeth
on the synchronizing ring for the 1st and 2nd gears.
