A) Version with pressure sensor
Remove intake air header - see 11 61 050.
The fuel system must remain closed.
Remove holders.
Lift out valves with ring line carefully.

Note when fitting: Always replace the small rubber seal.
Coution! Be careful not to damage the jet needles.

Connect pressure gauge and check and/or adjust the fuel pump
delivery pressure - see 13 31 029.
Remove control unit - see 13 61 000.
Connect tester EFAW 228 to harness plug.
Do not connect the control unit.

Sets switch A at valve testing position.
Press pump button (to build up pressure).
Press buttons 1 trough 4 one after the other; this requires
disconnecting the plug according to the following table:

Coution! Catch ejected fuel.
The injection valve must be replaced if at a delivery pressure
of at least 1 kp/cm² (14 psi) no more than 2 drops of fuel appear on the
valve per minute or if no fuel at all is ejected.

B) Version with air flow sensor
Troubleshoot with Bosch Tester No. 0 684 100 202, program
switch set at positions 6 through 10.
If a Bosch tester is not available:
Disconnect plugs at injection valves.
Turn on ignition.
Hold the test lamp against ground and touch both plugs in cable plug.
The test lamp must be on.
Coution! The injection valves are designed for 3 volts.

Remove header.
Plug fuel line to start valve.
Remove all injection valves.
Pull ignition cable 4 out of distributor.
Operate starter motor.
The injection valves must eject at even intervals.
Coution! Catch ejected fuel.
