The throttle valve switch supplies the control unit with
information on idle and full throttle.
A) Version with pressure sensor
Remove control unit - see 13 61 000.
Connect tester EFAW 228 to harness plug.
Do not connect control unit.
Set switch A at measuring position.
Set switch B at throttle valve switch III position.

Turn on ignition.
Loosen screws (1).
Turn throttle valve switch until the instrument needle goes from endless to 0.
Make a mark on housing-opposite graduated scale. Turn the throttle valve
switch clockwise toward mark by ½ graduation.
Tighten screws (1).
Adjust engine idle speed - see 13 00 054.

B) Version with air flow sensor
Connect tester, Bosch No. 0 684 100 202, to control unit.
Set cylinder switch at 6.
Set program switch at 5.
Turn on ignition.
The reading must be 0 in off position, endless at partial throttle and 0 at full
throttle.
To correct, loosen and adjust the throttle valve switch.

Checking with test lamp.
Disconnect plugs at throttle valve switch.
Connect terminal 18 to 30 (+).
Hold test lamp against ground and terminal 2.
The test lamp must be on in idle position (off position).
Hold test lamp against terminal 3.
The test lamp must be on in full throttle position.
A correction can be made after loosening the throttle valve switch
If adjustments do not help, replace the throttle valve switch.
