The heat sensitive bypass starter replaces the stepped disc of the
automatic choke.
The mixture valve (23) must be closed beyond coolant temperatures of
+ 65º C (149º F).
Mixing is then taken over by idle and auxiliary mixture system.

A) Choke connecting rod.
Remove choke cover.
Turn operating lever (1) to the left up to stop.
With the choke completely closed distance A must be 0.2 to
0.5 mm (0.008 to 0.020").
Correcting:: Loosen clamping screw (2). After completion of
adjustements slide clamping ring (3) against the clamp.

B) Choke valve opening
Press linkage (4) upwards to stop.
The operating lever (1) rests down.
Adjust the choke gap to a distance B of 2.5 ± 0.2 mm
(0. ± 0.008") at the choke valve wing facing down with screw (5).
Attach bimetallic spring to operating lever.
Adjusting marks oncover and housing must be aligned.

C) Speed booster
Engine at operatirng temperature; dwell angle, ignition
timing and CO level are correct.
Disconnect and plug hose (6).
Adjust boosting speed to 1800 to 2000 rpm screw (7) after
loosening the counternuts.
Coution! Never acelerate during these adjustment procdures.

D) Fuel/air mixture
The heat sensitive bypass starter switch off at a coolant temperature
of + 65º C (149º F).
Adjust the fuel/air mixture with screw (27).
Tighten screw (27) until it has a slightly tight fit and then back it
off 2½ turn.

E) Thermo valve
The thermo valve must be open up to a coolant temperature
of about + 20º C (68º F).
Disconnect center hose 8.
Disconnect hose (9) at T-adapter to advanced ignition vacuum
box and blow in air.
The thermo valve must be closed at coolant temperatures above
+ 20ºC (68º F).

F) Thermo switch
The thermo switch must be closed at an intake temperature
above about + 14º C (57º F) and the auxiliary heater in the
choke cover must be on, i.e. there must be full voltage at
connections (10 and 11).
Below + 14º C (57º F) there must only be voltage at connection
(10) - green/white wire.

G) Thermo time valve
Disconnect hose (12) and hose (13) at center of thermo
time valve to control line T-adapter and blow in air.
The valve must be open beyond + 20º C (68º F).
At - 20º C (-4º F) the opening time is about 15 seconds.
