Remove mounting screws (1).
Remove dust cap (2).
Take off lockwasher (3), shims (4) and seal (5).
Note when fitting: Use shims (4) to adjust the armature
axial play to 0.1 to 0.15 mm (0.004 to 0.006").

Loosen pole housing screws (6); pull off cap (7).
Lift out plus brushes (8) and remove carbon brush holder (9).
Note when fitting: Note proper location of carbon brush
holder (9). The pole housing screws (6) must be placed through the
locating slots into the carbon brush holder (9). Guide the exciter winding
wire through the rubber seal. Check commtator bearing.

Unsolder old and solder new carbon brushes at the exciter
winding and carbon brushes holder.
