A) Applicable to engines without hydraulic power steering
Take out battery.
Loosen fastening bolt (1).
Relax tensioning strap (2) on battery support.
Remove V-belt.
Note when fitting: Note correct V-belt length¹).
When tensioned, it must be possible to press the V-belt in by
5 ÷ 10 mm (approx 0.2 ÷ 0.4").

To improve engine cooling²), fan speed has been increased.
Vibration damper A = 162 mm (6.3779")
(previously 138 mm / 5.4331")
V-belt = 12.5 x 1050 (previously 12.5 x 1025)
If car is fitted with hydraulic power steering, also replace high
pressure pump pulley.
Pulley B = 102 mm (4.0157") (previously 134 mm / 5.2756")
V-belt = 9.5 x 1075 (previously 9.5 x 1125)

B) Applicable to engines with hydraulic power steering
Remove underfloor protection panel at front of car cf. 51 47 490.
Remove V-belt for hydraulic power steering impeller cf. 32 41 111.
