Remove distributor cap.
Disconnect wire at terminal 1.
Disconnect vacuum hoses.
Move piston of cylinder 1 to TDC, i.e. the TDC mark on the
vibration damper aligns with the cast tab on the gearbox cover.
Distributor rotor faces notch on distributor housing.
Loosen clamping screw.
Caution! For transistor ignition systems detach the sensor
wire at the plug between the distributor and control unit.
Secure the retaining springs with permanent magnets before
tightening to prevent mechanical damage when operating the
starter motor.

Note when fitting: Turn distributor rotor counterclockwise
about 3.5 cm (1.378") from the notch in the distributor housing.
Guide distributor drive into the camshaft drive.

A Advanced ignition control - to front carburettor next to
idle cut-off valve on the left as seen in the driving direction.
B Retarded ignition control - to front carburettor next to idle
cut-off valve on the right as seen in the driving direction.
