Remove camshaft cf. 11 31 000.
Push back thrust rings and rocker arms.
Pull off circlips (1).

Screw out locking bolts (2).
Note when assembling: Screw in locking bolts with
Loctite No. 73.

Screw tool N. 7004 onto rocker arm shaft.
Take out locating pin.
Knock out the front rocker arm shafts by means of punch.
Note when assembling: Replace worn (cpntracted) rocker
arm shafts.

Order of assembly: Spring (3), disc (4), rocker arm (5), thrust ring (6).

Note when assembling: Adjust rocker arm shafts in such
a way that the cylinder head bolts fit into the recesses.
Insert locating pins.

Remove rear cover for dismantling the rear rocker arm
shaft.
Note when assembling: Self-sealing disc (1).
Use Cobritol sealing elements only (2).

Important: Replace rocker arms if the cam followers
are loose.
Loose cam followers can be heard as excessively loud valve noise.

Important:The design of the rocker arms and rocker arm
shafts has been changed.
Previous design: Rocker arm without sleeve
Width of cam follower (A = 12 mm; 0.4724")
Hole in rocker arm shaft for oil flow facing downwards.
New design: Rocker arm with sleeve (1)
Width of cam follower (A = 11 mm; 0.4331")
Two horizontal holes in rocker arm shaft (2) for oil flow.
