The timing chain is stretched in advance. Replacements are
not necessary before 50,000 km (30,000 miles).
Check chain tensioner piston if chain noise is abnormal see 11 31 090.
Remove upper and lower gearbox covers-see 11 14 120.

Open lockplates.
Remove sprocket.

Note when fitting: Install chain so that the dowel pin (1)
is located to the bottom left.
Bore in sprocket must align with threaded bore in cast tab.

Take timing chain off of bottom sprocket.
Swing timing chain off of guide rail carefully to the right
as seen in driving direction.
