Loosen the alternator.
Align the OT (TDC) mark on the vibration damper with the
cast-in projection on the timing case cover.
Take off the vibration damper.
When installing: Note correct diameter of vibration damper:
2.5 ltr. to 3.0 Si = 223 mm (8.78 in)
3.3 L = 245 mm (9.65 in)

To improve engine cooling¹ (boiling when at a standstill),
the running speed of the radiator fan has been increased.
Vibration damper A = 162 mm (6.38 in), previously
138 mm (5.43 in)
V-belt 12.5 x 1050 mm previously 12.5 x 1025 mm
If power steering is installed, the V-belt pulley must be of
the correct typ to drive the high-pressure pump.
Belt pulley B = 102 mm (4.02 in),
previously 134 mm (5.28 in)
V-belt 9.5 x 1075 mm, previously 9.5 x 1125 mm.

Identification of V-belt (2) for hi gh-pressure power steering pump:
Belt pulley dia. B = 134 mm (5.28 in) -
V-belt 9.5 x 1125 mm
Belt pulley dia. B = 102 mm (4.02 in) -
V-belt 9.5 x 1075 mm
If drive from crankshaft is used: V-belt 9.5 x 900 mm.
Identification of V-belt (3) for air conditioning:
Version with York compressor - V-belt 12.5 x 850 mm
Version with swashplate compressor - V-belt 12.5 x 800 mm
