Remove the engine 11 00 050.
Attach the crankcase to the engine stand with assembly plate 7001.

Take off the clutch 21 21 000.

Take off the cylinder head.
Remove the timing chain 11 31 051.

Take off the oil pump 11 41 000.

Before removing the crankshaft measure axial play¹.

If the maximum permitted play is exceeded, examine the
main bearings.

Remove the flywheel 11 22 000.
Take off the end cover.
When installing:Coat the junction between the end cover and
oil sump joints with Atmosit or Curil K 2.

Remove the big end bearing caps in the BDC position.

When installing:Each connecting rod and bearing caps
ist marked to indicate the corresponding cylinder. Connecting
rod 1 is at the chain sprocket end.

The cylinder reference or machining numbers must always
be on the same side.

Take off the main bearing caps.
Lift out the crankshaft.

When installing:Do not interchange the bearing caps
accidentally.

Bearing 1 is at the chain sprocket end.

Attach the oil pump mounting together with bearing cap 4.

When installing:Install the main bearing caps so that
the grooves coincide.
