Clean sealing surfaces on cylinder head and crankcase
thoroughly.

Note when fitting: Only use original cylinder head
gaskets; the openings for the coolant match exactly.

Caution! The cylinder head gasket of a fuel injection
engine can be used on a carburettor engine.

But under no circumstances may the gasket from a carburettor
engine be installed on a fuel injection engine.

The cylinder head gasket has two additional bores to improve
the seal between the cylinder head and gearbox cover.

Caution! Fill bores with Dirko sealing compound before
installation of gearbox cover.

Note when fitting: Surface cylinder head surface if
required-see 11 12 719.

Caution! Tighten cylinder head bolts after 1000 km
(600 miles). This is done by loosening the bolts slightly and then
tightening them to the spcified torque¹.
