Take off cylinder head:
Note when fitting:Tighten bolts in order 1 ÷ 14 in three
subsequent stages.
Let engine warm up to normal operating temperature.
After a trial run, let engine cool again to 35º C (95º F).
Tighten cylinder head studs one final time.
After a distance of 1000 km (600 miles) has been covered,
the cylinder head studs must be tightenend once again, and
then at the normal service intervals.
Note: There must not be only oil in the blind holes, as there
is otherwise a risk that although the bolts are tightened at the torque
specified they do not have sufficient pressure on the cylinder
head. In addition, oil in the blind holes may cause the cylinder
crankase to crack.
Note when fitting: Always replace the cylinder head
sealing.
Adjustment of valve clearance cf. 11 34 004.
Adjust engine idling speed and fuel/air mixture.

Note when fitting: Tighten the bolts in the sequence 1
through 14 one after the other in three stages.

Run engine to operating temperature. After the test run let engine
cool off to 35° C (95° F). Give final torque to cylinder head bolts.
The cylinder head bolts are tightened again after a distance of
1000 km (600 miles) and then at the normal intervals.

Coution! There should never be oil in the recesses, since
otherwise the bolts will not exert full pressure on the cylinder head
even though they are tightenend to the specified torque.
Besides the crankcase might crack.
Note when fitting: The cylinder head gasket must always
be replaced.

See 11 34 004 for tappet clearance adjustments.

Adjust engine idle speed and fuel/air mixture.
